GCuencas. Characterization and parameterization of river basins and river reaches
One of the works prior to modeling is the characterization of river basins and river reaches. This type of task involved a large part of the hydrologist's work, with a high consumption of time and resources.
Nowadays, thanks to the available information and tools such as GCuencas, it is possible to perform these jobs in much shorter times.
This application divides the territory into sub-basins draining to a set of points (data - places of interest of the hydrographic network, such as gauging stations or a reservoirs) and obtains their main river reaches and those connecting points. And it calculates for all of them, sub-basins and reaches, magnitudes of hydrological interest (morphological, runoff parameters, propagation, statistics, ...)
